To install the NowSignage app for Samsung's Tizen-based displays, you'll need to have the display plugged into power and have the remote ready to configure some steps.
We'll walk you through the entire process, as though the display is fresh out of the box.
If you've already set up some parts of the system below, you don't need to re-enter them, but we do recommend resetting to factory settings before performing this guide.
System Reset
Press the "Menu" button on the remote, and scroll down the pop-up window that appears to a menu labeled "System" then click "OK" on the remote. Then scroll down to "Reset System" and click "OK".
Start the first-time user setup by going to the "System" menu and selecting the "Start Setup" menu item.
Initial Setup
The first-time setup is fairly trivial to complete, navigate through the steps:
- Select your language.
- For "Display Orientation", select the appropriate orientation for either landscape or portrait.
- For "Auto Power Off", we recommend setting that to "Off".
- Select your network connection and connect the display to your network.
- For "Play via", select "URL Launcher".
- When prompted for a URL, for Tizen 4 and Tizen 6.5, enter: "https://tizen.nowsignage.com".
- For Tizen 7 and above, enter: "https://tizen7.nowsignage.com"
- For "Connect to RM Server", select "Skip".
- For "Clock Set", enter the correct date and time for your location.
Setting the date/time via NTP
If a NTP server for date/time is not set, this can occasionally cause the date/time settings to drift, so we advise the following is set to ensure this is always correct.
On the remote press:
Menu > System > Time > NTP Settings:
Network Time Protocol > Use
Server URL > pool.ntp.org
Time Zone > Select your time zone
Launching NowSignage
Press the "Smart Hub" button on the remote to bring up a menu bar. You should see Nowsignage to the left of the menu.
Ensure it is selected, and press "OK" on the remote to activate NowSignage. Now simply enter in your screen PIN (located within the screen dashboard of your NowSignage account) and click activate to load your content.
