The fundamentals of the NowSignage platform lie within the 4 tabs within the left navigation bar (Screens, Schedules, Playlists, Content). With this in mind, getting a screen up and running is simple, you just need to follow a 4 step process by following the workflow below. Starting from ‘Content’ and working your way through the tabs to ‘Screens’;
Step 1: Upload your content
Within your NowSignage project, simply click on the ‘Content’ tab in the left sidebar and this will direct you to the asset library where all of your uploaded content is stored.
Now you need to do is drag and drop files into the highlighted file upload area shown below:
Once you drag files into the zone above, it will highlight and then start uploading/processing the uploaded items.
Step 2: Create a Playlist
Once you are happy with your uploaded content, click into the ‘Playlists’ tab then click ‘Add playlist+' located in the top right, to build a new playlist for your saved assets.
Now type in a name for your playlist then click 'Submit' to access create the playlist, then click on the name of the playlist once it's created to access the playlist editor. You can now start creating your playlist by adding items within the right section of the screen. There are various filtering options as you can filter by asset type using the drop down (e.g. images, videos, live streams) and you can also search for your assets by their name or tag.
Once you have found the asset you'd like to add to your playlist, click add. You will now be given the option to alter the duration (in seconds) of the asset. This will default at 15 seconds for image assets and videos will default to the full length of the uploaded video (so this does not need altering if you are happy for the video to play in full).
Once you are happy with the duration, click 'add to playlist' and this will then be added to your playlist instantly. You can now repeat the process above to add as many assets as you like into the playlist. Once you are happy with the playlist, you can leave the playlist area as all changes will save automatically in real time.
Step 3: Create a Schedule
After you have created your playlist, click into the ‘Schedules’ tab, click on ‘Create new+’, type in a name for your schedule, then click 'Submit'. Once created, click on the name of the newly created schedule to edit it.
Now click on 'Add time slot+' to access the schedule editor, this will allow you to either select a playlist or a layout to add within your schedule. To add a playlist, firstly enter in the times you want the playlist to display (this is a 24 hour clock), select the days of the week you want to add this to and then select the playlist you wish to add from the dropdown menu (you can search in this area by typing the name of the playlist). Once you are happy with your selection, click 'Submit' to add the playlist to your schedule.
You can then add in as many playlists or layouts as you wish across the weekly schedule view by repeating the process above and adding in another time slot. Once you are happy with your schedule, please proceed to step 4 below.
Step 4: Create your screen
You now just need to create a screen, go into the ‘Screens’ tab and then click on the ‘Add Screen+’ button to create a screen. Now enter in a name and location for your screen, select the schedule you wish to apply to the screen and click the 'Submit' button to finalise the creation of the screen.
Your screen will now appear in your screens dashboard, so the next step is to activate the screen by clicking 'activate' then you will be given the option to apply a license to the screen. Once activated your unique screen PIN number will appear.
Step 5: Enter your PIN into the app
